In order to study a broken urea synthetic tower which had multilayer warping cylinder, the paper checked its metallurgical structure, measured its grain size, and analyzed the cyclic deformation. The result shows that the ring weld has weld defects and under alternating stress it will crack, which will finally cause breaking of the urea synthetic tower.
